  • Kuni was born in Mie Prefecture and raised in Nagoya, Japan. As a six grader, he passed All Japan Abacus Union Level-1 (highest possible in those days). Leaning abacus gave him confidence in studying other subjects, including Math and English.
  • In 1973, he graduated from the University of Tokyo with a degree in Applied Physics. After joining Hitachi, he passed STEP Level-1(English Proficiency Test) and went abroad to study at the University of Minnesota. From 1991, he started working for Hitachi America. His specialities are Electronic Engineering, Magnetic Recording, and Physical Engineering.
  • In March 2004, he resigned from Hitachi. In the same year, he was certified as a Shichida Method Right Brain Development Instructor for overseas from the Shichida Educational Institute in Gotsu, Simane Prefecture, Japan. He opened an abacus program in July and the right brain development course for infants to young children in September.
  • In January 2005, he started the Chigasaki-method English course, the first of such program offered outside of Japan.
  • He is a member of the League for Soroban Education of America, the Institute for English Yomiagezan, and the CHIgasaki Method English School.


  • Mie was born and raised in Tokyo. After graduating from Tokyo Women's College, she married and raised three children.
  • In 1991, her family moved to the state of Georgia. For five years, she taught ORIGAMI (Japanese traditional paper crafting) at community colleges. She also worked as a volunteer at local elementary schools to colleges to introduce and share Japanese culture with children. In 1995, she was awarded the Best Volunteer of the Year from the Gwinnett Country, Georgia.
  • From 1997, she served as a dedicated volunteer in Japanese classes at San Jose District High Schools for four years. She also worked at San Jose Kumon for five years to support children in various subjects.
  • In March, 2004, she was certified as a Shichida Method Right Brain Development Instructor for overseas.
  • In June, 2007, she was certified as a Reiki Master.


  • Tomoko is the Director of Miura Education Center and a light worker, specializing in Sound Healing. She is passionate about music and is an active singer and songwriter. Tomoko has been the conductor of Choral Kaguyahime, a San Diego local Japanese singing group, since January 2007. Visit her music web site at www.MySpace.com/SyonnSings.
  • Tomoko was born in Tokyo and raised mainly in the central Japan. She moved to the U.S. in 1991. In July, 2004, she graduated from UCSD with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts. In the same year, she was awarded a UCSD Undergraduate Research Scholar Certificate. She is a member of Golden Key Club and Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society.
  • Since 1999, she has worked as an academic tutor/adviser and parent-child relationship coach. She provides private and group sessions to support students of all ages in various subjects (specializes in Math and Science). She also finds importance in building good EQ (Emotional Quality) to live a happy and successful life.
  • In Mar, 2004, she was certified as a Shichida Method Right Brain Development Instructor for overseas.
  • In Nov, 2005, she was certified as a HADO Instructor.

  • Kyoko was born in Tokyo and raised in the central Japan and the U.S.. She began playing violin in 1992 and has been participating in school and community orchestras and youth symphonies ever since.
  • After graduating from SDSU in December 2008 with a B.M. in Music Education, Kyoko will pursue a teaching credential. Kyoko was chosen as 2008 Fellow of the California Music Project, a yearly program in which undergraduate students, recognized for their stellar academic and musical performances, are allowed to student teach at local schools. As a recognized Fellow of this prestigious program, Kyoko is currently a student teacher in a San Diego middle school music program.
  • Along with her own musical activities, she provides private and group violin lessons at Miura Education Center.
  • She has working experience as a private tutor and as an assistant teacher at KUMON.
